HomeMy WebLinkAboutHuron Expositor, 2017-02-01, Page 94,4 Wednesday, February 1, 2017 • Huron Expositor 9 Suspended Driver Found In Possession Of Meth (CENTRAL HURON, Ont) —A traffic stop on Sunday, January 22, 2017 has resulted in a future court date for a Cen- tral Huron resident. At approximately 12:19 a.m. a Huron County Ontario Pro- vincial Police (OPP) officer spotted a Hyun- dai tum off of Huron Road onto Parr Line. Upon closer observation it was noticed the rear licence plate was not functioning. As a result the motor vehicle was stopped. Upon speaking with the male driver police learned the driver had a sus- pended driver's licence. As a result he was placed under arrest for driv- ing while under suspension. A search incident to arrest was completed and during the search the investigat- ing officer located and seized a quan- tity of suspected methamphetamine. As a result, a 35 -year-old male from Central Huron has been charged with Possession of a Schedule I Substance — Methamphetamine, Driving While Under Suspension, Improper Num- ber Plate Light and Drive Motor Vehi- cle in Contravention of Conditions. He has been released from cus- tody with a court appearance sched- uled for March 6, 2017 at the Ontario Court of Justice — Goderich. Flatbed Trailer Stolen (CENTRAL HURON, Ont.) — Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers are actively investigat- ing the theft of a flatbed trailer sto- len from Townsend Tire located on Londesboro Road in Central Huron. Police believe the theft took place sometime between 5:00 p.m. on January 23, 2017 and 8:00 a.m. on January 24, 2017. The trailer is described as a black, 20' long LoadStar flat bed trailer with Yosemite Sam mud flaps.
