Cents take landslide loss to the chin

The Huron East Cente-
naires battled their neigh-
boured rivalries, the Clin-
ton Radars in a game that
played out much different
than the last time the two
clubs met.
In Seaforth, the December
17 game was an epic battle,
both teams managed to
accumulate 82 shots on goal
with the Cents rising above
by a nose hair in a 4 -3
shootout win.
The tables turned though
last Friday in the Radars'
favour on their home ice at
the Central Huron Commu-
nity Complex.
They out shot the Cents
45-23 and won in devastat-
ing fashion beating them
9-1.
In the eyes of Tim
McNaughton, general man-
ager for the Cents, the
opposing team were given
too much room to skate,
resulting in his club having
to constantly scramble for
position.
"Their (a) very high pow-
ered offense when given
space to move the puck,"
stated McNaughton January
8 about the 2016 \VOAA SR.
AA champions. "They can
score 10 goals any given
night."
Since the last two games of
the season were rather close,
McNaughton said this land-
slide loss "hurt" a bit more,
especially because they are a
10 -minute drive away.
The weekend is over, it's
back to the drawing board,
and McNaughton says the
Cents are accepting the loss
by moving forward.
"All you can do after a
game like that is understand
what went wrong," he said.
Next on the schedule for
the Cents is an away game
against the Lucknow Lancers
January 14, followed by a
home ice advantage conten-
tion, when they take on the
Tavistock Royals. Both
games start at 7:30 p.m.
The Huron East Centenaires celebrate a powerplay goal in the first period against the Clinton Radars. However it would be the only
goal they put in the net, they lost 9-1 last Friday in Clinton Ont.
Defenseman for the Huron East Centenaires, James Toye skates down the center of the ice.
The captain of the Clinton Radars grabs the puck out of his own zone January 6.
