Fiower show scheduled for June 27
The Seaforth and District Horticul-
tural Society met at Northside United
Church on June 10 at 7:30 p.m.
Heather McLean introduced speak-

growing and marketing of gladiolus.
She inspired members to .try some of

A correction to the May minutes is
that the Seaforth Fair ambassador po-

young women.

able for display at the Information
Booth on ` June 6 when the town -wide
garage sale was held.
David Norman gave the treasurer's
report which includes $1,430 from bus
tour sales to be held in the account
until the bus company requires pay-
ment.
Ruth had booklets available on the
use of rain barrels and it was men-
tioned' that they are available at the
Winthrop store for $36.
Civic Improvement member, Dick De
Jong, said that all the hanging bas-
kets, planter boxes and gardens have
now been cared for and planted for the
season. Thanks go to those members
who work so hard around our town to
keep it looking beautiful.
Elly Schoonderwoerd and Ruth
Smith attended the District 8 meeting
in Markdale on May 30 and Elly gave
an interesting and comprehensive re-
port.
Heather McLean reported ori the bus
trip which is now sold out and there is
a waiting list. Participants will meet
at 7:25 a.m. at Victoria Park on July
