Perth Forbidden Ride fundraising
event this past weekend.
This event was the launch of the
new Ride • The Counties brochure
and website, a motorcycle touring
program created by Perth County
Visitors Association and the Huron
County tourism alliance of the Plan-
ning and Development department
and the Huron Tourism Association.
Eleven communities joined in to
welcome the riders: Shakespeare,
Stratford, St. Marys, Listowel, Mil-
bank and Mitchell in Perth County
and Wingham, Exeter, Seaforth,
Clinton and Goderich in Huron -
County.
The shops and stops were deco-
rated with black and yellow ribbons
and each stop provided a stamp to

riders who gathered the highest
numbers of stamps gathered at loca-
tions along the routes were awarded
prizes donated from retailers and
communities.
Riders expressed their appreciation
for the warm welcome they received
at the stops, commenting that they'll
be returning and bringing friends to
explore the region.
The Saturday evening highlight
was dinner at the Cove Beach in
Goderich, with a catered pork din-
ner, prizes and entertainment.
Jenna Ujiye, Tourism Marketer for
Huron County commented that com-
munities are eager to welcome new
visitors.
"It's important that we keep build-
ing awareness for the all the delights
to be found in smaller, rural commu-
nities in our region. This motorcycle.
event has given us an opportunity to
show how we can work together as
regional partners, with benefits for
all participants," she said.
