golfers register to compete -in the
Chase the Dream 4ualifier, organizer
Maureen Agar said last week that 18
more golfers would need to register to
reach 50.
"The way it's going, I expect we'll
only be offering one spot. I don't know
with the young guys whether they'll
get organized enough to sign up," she
said.

So far, golfers have signed up from
the Seaforth area, Goderich, Zurich,
Toronto, London, Barrie, Ottawa,
Hamilton and New York.
"They're coming in from allover,"
said Agar.
She and Carolanne Doig are hoping
to see some crowds out to watch golf-
ers swinging for a spot in the Canadi-
an Tour starting at 8 a.m. Saturday.
"People got a taste of it last year and
we hope to see more of a crowd this
year. There are always up and com-
ing stars and this could be their step
into the Canadian Tour," said Agar.
Doig pointed out that Chris Ross -
who came in second last year after a
playoff round with winner Graham
Hill after both of them scored 67. or
four under par on the course - will
again be competing in the Chase the
Dream qualifier.
Ross, of Dundas Ont., is the
son of Stephan Ross, former
executive director of the Royal
Canadian Golf Association.
The Country Classic is of-
fering last year's winner,
Graham Hill, of Forest, Ont.,
a spot in the Canadian Tour
after earning the spot in last
year's qualifier.
Four more spots will be up
for grabs in another qualify-
ing tournament the Monday
the Country Classic begins in
Seaforth on Aug. 24.
With eight spots to . offer in
the Country Classic tourna-

maining spots.
Teen golfers Robyn and Paul Doig are playing
in the Chase the Dream qualifier at the
