Seaforth firefighters were called to
a burning hydro pole which toppled
onto Hydro Line Road near County
Road 12, cutting off power to Hydro
One customers from Egmondville to
Brussels Sunday evening.
. Firefighters were called to Hydro
Line Road around 6 p.m. after a
passing motorist noticed the burning
hydro pole and called 911, says Sea -
forth Fire Chief Tom Phillips.
"The hydro setvice was pulled off
Bill Chesney's house when the pole
fell. There can be .. ,
quite an explo-
sion when that
happens," says
Phillips, adding
that no one was
hurt.
With live hydro
lines across the
roadway, Ontar-
io Hydro crews
were called to
make repairs,
which were fin-
ished around
midnight, says
Phillips.
Firefighters spent two hours at the
scene, where they were called to an-
other fire on Brydge Road between
Roxboro and Division Lines when a
small storage shed burned down.
The call came, at 8:20 p.m. and fire
trucks arrived to find the shed total-
ly engulfed with only the beams still
standing.
Phillips says the cause of the shed
fire is unknown.
