Athletes from St. Anne's Secondary
School and Central Huron Secondary
School ran, jumped and threw their
way to victory during the Huron -
Perth track meet on May 12-13.
The event brought together hun-
dreds of athletes from almost a dozen
schools across both counties.
Kelsey Smith from St. Anne's fin-
ished in first place in both the midget
girls' 100 and 200 metre dash, with
times of 13.40 and 28.50.
Her teammate Nadine Otten earned
a first place finish in the midget girls'
400 metre race with a time of 1:07.28.
She also took first in the midget girls'
80 metre hurdles with a time of 13.22
and in the 300 metre hurdles with a
time of 50.30.
Kristen Nolan of St. Anne's finished
in fourth in the 300 metre hurdles,
but that was enoughto •qualify for
WOSSAA, which is taking place this
week, because the top six finishers in
each event are invited.
The St. Anne's midget girls' 4x100
metre relay, which included both
Smith and Otten, along with Nata-
lie Terpstra and Brittany Hymers,
finished in first place with a time of
53.80.
Hymers also finished second in the
midget girls' 200 metredash, tying
St. Anne's teammate Taylor Speirs
with a time of 28.60. Hymers also fin-
ished second in the 400 metre dash
and second in the midget girls' triple
jump, with a distance of 9.10 metres.
Speirs also took fourth in the midg-
et girls' 100 metre dash and fourth in
the javelin throw with a distance of
22.94 metres.
Shannen Murray of St. Anne's fin-
ished in first in the midget girls' 800
metre run, with a time of 2:45.40.
She also took first in the midget
girls' 1500 metre run with a time of
5:21.60, and another first in the 300
metre run, with a time of 11:13.60.
Teammate Ali Frayne finished in
fourth, sixth and fifth in the three
events and will join Murray at OF -
SAA.
Shayla Mathers from St. Anne's
earned a spot at OFSAA ,by finish-
ing in fifth in the midget girls' discus
throw, with a distance of 19.24m.
Ashley Jamnaat of St. 'Anne's took
third place in the junior girls' 100
metre dash with a time of 13.36, fol-
lowed by . teammate Liz Miltenburg
whofinished in fifth with a time of
14.25.
Janmaat took second in the junior
girls' 200 metre dash with a time of
28.80, followed again by Miltenburg,
who took third this time, with a . time
of 29.80.
Teammate Sara Kramers took sixth
in both events, as well as a third place
finish in the junior girls' 400 metre
dash with a time of 1:07.90.
Kramers also finished in fifth in the
junior girls' 300 metre hurdleswith a
time of 56.90.
Therese Hartman of St. Anne's
finished in fifth place in the junior
girls' 1500 metre run with a time of
5:59.80, as well as a fifth place finish
in the 3000 metre run, with a time of
13:19.10.
Thammate Alexus McCue earned a
fourth place finish in the junior girls'
80 metre hurdles with a time of 17.10
and a sixth place finish in the 300
metre hurdles with a time of 58.30.

The St. Anne's junior girls' 4x100 me-
tre 'A' relay team, with teammates
Janmaat, Kramers, Miltenburg and
Stephanie Faulds running, earned a
third place finish, while the B' team,
with runners Nolan, Lauren Somers,
Courtney Box and Leanne Regier,
finished in fourth.
Bos also took first place in the ju-
nior girls' high jump, with a height of
1.51 metres, as well as a fourth place
finish in the javelin throw.
Claire Reinink from St. Anne's took
fifth place in the junior girls' long
jump with a distance of 3.85 metres
and sixth place in shot put with a dis-
tance of 6.97 metres.
St. Anne's senior Jory Uyl finished
in third place in the 100 metre dash,
with a time of 13.20. He earned an-
other third place finish in the triple
jump, with a distance of 10.01 me-
tres.
Her teammate Ellen Tousaw took
first place in the senior girls' 400 me-
tre dash with a time of 1:04.80. Thu -
saw also earned a first place finish in
the senior girls' 100 metre hurdles
with a time of 15.59, followed by Uyl
in second place. Than mate Kim Ho-
gervorst took third place in the event,
fifth place in the senior girls' long
jump and sixth in javelin throw.
Zbusaw also took first place in the
senior girls' 400 metre hurdles with
a time of 1:08.60, followed by team-
mate Alyssa McCue in sixth.

St. Anne's runners Shauna Regier
and Carly Winters finished third and
fourth in the senior girls' 800 metre
run.
Teammate Grace Hartman took
fifth place in the senior girls' 1500
metre run and fourth in the 3000 me-
tr s run, followed by Regier in sixth.
Hartman also earned a second place
finish in the 1500 metre steeplechase,
with a time of 5:50.90.
The St. Anne's senior girls' 4x100
metre relay 'A' team, with runners
Ibusaw, Hogervorst, Uyl and Brit-
tany Bos, took first place with a time
of 52.80.
The `B' relay squad, with Amanda
Wondergem and Alyssa, Hadassah
and Alexus McCue, took fifth place.
The 4x400 metre 'A' relay team,
consisting of Bos, Zbusaw, Otten and
Kramers, finished in third place. The
'B' team, with Hartman, Hymers,
Murray and Frayne, took fourth.
Matt deRuiter of St. Anne's took
first in the midget boys' 200 metre
dash with a time of 25.20. He also
finished in first in the midget boys'
300 metre hurdles with a time of
44.30, and earned another first place
finish in the midget boys' 400 metre
dash with a time of 57.90, followed by
teammate Ryan Watson. Watson also
took sixth in the discus throw and
fifth in the javelin.
