5wean Hunde_rtmark pulled out that really balanced it,"
A recorded vote of 7-4 passed Hu-
ron East's 2009 budget with a gen-
eral levy increase of six per cent.
While councillors were still argu-
ing at the April 21 meeting about
whether or not to buy a used or new
tanker truck for the Seaforth fire
department or tandem truck for the
public works department, there was
consensus over the amount of the in
crease.
In his budget presentation to coun-
cil De ut -Clerk Brad Knight said
that the budget was within .$1.0,000
of being balanced and "given. that
it's a $12 million budget, I wouldn't

he said.
He said the generallevy increase of
six per cent actually results in a net
municipal levy increase 'of 4.97 per
cent, which breaks down to a 2.87
per cent increase in Seaforth, a 3.42
per cent increase in- Brussels, a 2.8
per cent increase in Grey,.a 2.18 per
cent increase in McKillop and a 5.28
per cent increase in Tuckersmith.
