the expansion of the present build-
ing.
"They will all be viable buildings
and full and we'll be looking for more
space in a couple of years," he said.
McKillop Coun. Andrew Flowers,
speaking on behalf of the Huron
East Health Centre, said the build-
ing, estimated to cost $2.25 million,
actually came in at $2 million, a to-
tal that, will be debentured over the
next 30 years at a five per cent inter-
est rate.
He also announced that the build-
ing is now 100 per cent rented.
Responding to a question about
what will happen to the medical
clinic now that Seaforth's doctors are
moving into the Huron East Health
Centre, Seaforth Community Hospi-
tal Trust chair Sheila Morton said
that whatever decision is made, it
will be to support the hospital.
AAs far as we know, the doctors in
the clinic are in a turnkey operation
and when we know they're leaving,
\we'll take a look at the options and
decide what will take place," she
said:
Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance
(HPHA) CEO -Andrew Williams said
the hospital trust's major focus lately
is stabilizing the Seaforth clinic.
"Our clinic is
in good shape.
With 2,000 vis-

a major driver
in local health-

Morton told the crowd that the
hospital trust reports to the hospital
foundation at its annual meeting,
giving an audited statement at that
time.
"As far as I'm concerned, it's very
open. The trust ensures the doctors
are very looked after," she said.
Morton also said the trust doesn't
make a profit but is currently oper-
ating at a deficit which is supported
by the hospital foundation.
"We would like to operate at a prof-
it and if we did, the money would go
to the foundation," she said.
Questioned about the structure of
the hospital trust . and why one of the
trust members is also an _employee
of the _medical clinic, Morton said
the trust is made up of the chair and
vice chair of the hospital foundation
and two Seaforth representatives
sitting on the .HPHA board. She said
the member of the hospital trust who
is also employed by the trust does so
legally.
