Speed trap on
North Line
brings nine
charges
Nine speeding charges were
laid by Huron OPP in an hour
and a half on April 10, when
patrols were conducted on the
North Line in Seaforth in re-
sponse to complaints about
speeding.
Police say the three highest
speeds documented were 94,
94, and 97 kph in the posted
50 kph zone.
The last charge came very
close to a seven-day licence
suspension.
"This is just a reminder to
the motoring public that we
will not tolerate speeding and
we will not discontinue our
enforcement efforts," says
Const. Joanna Van Mierlo.

A packed community centre of close
to 300 people kept a Q and A session..
about Seaforth's healthcare commu-
nity going for close to three hours last
Tuesday night.
And, at least one question seemed to
be answered quite clearly - Seaforth's
residents don't want to form a .com-
mittee looking into leaving the Huron -
Perth Healthcare Alliiance.
Responding to a question from or-
ganizer Maureen. Agar about whether
those in attendance wanted to strike
a committee "to put control of the hos-
pital back in the hands of Seaforth,"
many shouted "no" from the audience
and no one applauded their support
when invited to do so.
"I'm not sure I like being in the Alli-
ance. Bigger isn't always better and I
still have questions about what's going
on at Seaforth Community Hospital,"
she said, suggesting the formation of
a Seaforth committee at the end of the
evening.
"There are still a lot of questions out
there so I hope people continue to ask
Ahem," said Agar, adding that she's in-
terested to hear what the role of the
Seaforth hospital will be in the Alli-
ance.
The information meeting was orga-
nized to give committees and organ -
