coming to Seafor
Seaforth is hosting the Huron Perth Career Symposium 2009 April. 28-°
29.
A wide variety of exhibitors profiling careers in health sciences, trades;
technology and management and more than a dozen academic institu-
tions and training schools will be at the two-day event being held at the
Seaforth Community Centre.
"It's . our hope that increased awareness about the diversity of careers
and employment opportunities available locally will persuade our youth
to stay in the area to work and contribute to the overall economy," said
symposium co-ordinator Wes MacVicar.
"In addition -- and we can't stress this enough -- this event at this par-
ticular time of adjustment will be of great benefit to adults looking for
a career change, re-enteringthe workforce or thinking of going back to
school," he sai. > ;
Hours are 9 a.m.-5 p.m. April 28 and 9 a.m.-3 p.m. April 29. Admission
is $2.

Queensway's Annual Volunteer Ap-
preciation held Wednesday April lst.
The groups antics had the crowd in
stitches as they sang & joked their
way through their very original
routine. Refreshments consisting of
Tea, Coffee, lemonade, sweet treats
and delicious fresh fruit trays were
served & several draws were held to
complete the afternoon.

the Red Hat ladies, giving us a "full
house" for this event. Residents
had decorated cupcakes which were
served along with grapes and straw-
berries, making attractive displays
of Easter. Treats and our lovely Chi-
na cups and saucers were put to good
use for the Tha and Coffee that was
served. Lisa Stewart provided music
for the afternoon assisted by Resi-
dent Volunteer Marjorie Freeman as
she played a wide variety of songs
on the piano. Thank you to Bill Gib-
son for donating the daffodils used
for the tables as well as Kay Mock &
Lisa Stewart for bringing their selec-
tion of Easter Bonnets for attendees
to wear. Funds raised were for Ex-
eter Food Bank.
Queensway's Volunteer Auxiliary
& Family Council were treated to an
Appreciation Brunch in the Cafe fol-
lowing their meeting Tuesday April
7th. This core group of individuals
give countless hours of support to
programs department, helping to
provide a variety of events & activi-
ties to meet the wide range of Resi-
dent's interests and abilites.
