"The best part about it is that we now have no reason to
have junk left on the river,". says a participant information
sheet distributed to all canoeists.
Melady says the rally, now in its sixth year, has raised a
total of $20,000 for various charities in the area.
"We've never had a single complaint from any landowner
along the river and it's a good fundraiser. It helps the small
organizations like Epilepsy Huron -Perth survive," he says.
