Farnell, a former teacher', is involved
with the Grade 3 educational hands-
-on program at the Van Egniond
HOuse. He brought surgeons tools
and artifacts, and told us about the
• pioneer medicine -the. Grade 3 stu-
dents learn.
In .2008, six schools and 182 stu-
dents participated over a five-day
program at the Van Egmond House.
A similar program is being offered in
2009.
Last year's Haunted Huron was a
very popular event and featured psy-
chic Annette Sullivan from London.
She conducted private readings and
haunted tours of the Van .Egmond
ouse.

The Van Egmond Foundation en-
deavors to. keep the Van Egmont'
House open for tours on most sum-
mer weekdays, or by. appointment,
-and_ employs -a summer student as a
guicle. • Several bus tours, and drop in
visitors tour the Van Egmond House
each year.
The beautiful grounds of the house
are a favourite spot .for tag wed-
ding pictures. Last year, a local pho-
tographer used this locale for the‘Sea-
forth Co-operative Children's Centre
