Curling team has sweeping success a

One of Seaforth Public School's two
curling teams came fourth • out of 86
teams at the Timbits Provincials in
Peterborough over the weekend.
"All the kids did fabulous but there
was a new point system. and it didn't
work for us. We don't like to run the
score up but that caused two of the
teams not to move on," says coach
'ibdd Doig.
The Seaforth Curling Club sent four
teamsto the Timbits tournament, two
from SPS and two: from St. James.
Winning - all four of its first four
games, SPS #1: qualified for the main
event, lost in the quarter finals and
lost the final in the second event, end-
ing up fourth overall.
SPS -#1, made up of Ethan Doig,
Sam Steep, Alex Vincent and Adam
Vincent, won games against St. Jo-
seph's Catholic 11 to 3, St. Raphael 8
to 4, Kinghurst 6 to 5, St. Andrew #2
7 to , 2 before losing to Exeter Public
School 7 to 2.

your mindset changes rig away."
In his handful of games so far with
the Moose,. Nesbitt says he feels a: lot
more comfortable on the ice.
"I'm playing more like myself," says
Nesbitt, who grew up 'playing minor
hockey in Seaforth. "I'm playing in
situations I'm used to, like a top six

play units and. It's working out well."
In his fifth game ' nth Manitoba, he
suffered a lower b : r : injury, which
he is still nursing. He says the train-
ing staff has been helpful and that he
hopes to be up and going in time for
the playoffs.
