Seaforth has iow ER walt times From Page 1 Seaforth site administrator Mary Cardinal said that a cardiac patient who came to SCH would be stabilized in Seaforth before being transferred to a larger hospital where they could have a longer wait for a hospital bed. "These figures don't tell the whole story but they do make us look good. They are numbers to be proud of," she agreed. Williams added that Seaforth Com- munity Hospital and Victoria Hospi- tal do "very different things." "We can't expect people to come to Seaforth now instead because we don't have the services," he said. Cardinal added that there are pa- tients from London. and Kitchener who already choose to travel to Sea - forth or other smaller hospitals in the region for emergency care. "They know they can come here and be seen by a doctor before they would have at home," she said. The Ontario government is now posting the wait times for patients in hospitals across the province on its website at www.health.gov.on.ca. While Cardinal pointed out that not all of the data is completely cur- rent, the website is part of a Ministry of Health initiative to manage wait times and use resources well. tiji Usbornc Hibbert Mutual Fire Insurance Company Head Office Exeter, ON NOM IS1 235-0350 • Est. 1876 Residential Farm & Commercial Properties DIRECTORS & ADJUSTERS Joe Chaffe.
