off to a good start Monday morning
as they worked their way through an
exercise routine consisting of range of
motion, strength training and games.
Following the program residents en-
joyed a sing song accompanied by res-
ident volunteer Marjorie on the key-
board. Massage Therapist Lori Burt,
worked with residents throughout the
day Monday and in the afternoon ev-
eryone gathered in the Activity room
for bingo with the Hensall Legion
women. The Wii game drew some
players in the evening facilitated by
student Activation Aide Cassie.
Breakfast group participants dined
on blueberry pancakes with. sau-
sage Tuesday: Morning. The delicious
scent of the freshly
flipped pancakes
topped with syrup
and melting butter
had mouths watering for second help-
ings. Volunteer Marlette Bilcke assist-
ed at the program. Rev. John Zwaan
lead worship at 11 a.m. with resident
Freda as volunteer pianist and then
following the service he spent some
time visiting. In the afternoon several
residents benefited from the sensory
program which seeks to stimulate var-
ious senses using a variety of items.
Drumming group met Wednesday
• with participants drumming out
rhythms : lead by Lisa Stewart, Mu-
sic Therapist. The enthusiastic group
plays a variety of drums ranging
from floor type Bongo
drums to hand held
lollipop style, using
hands or sticks, suiting
their abilities or desire.
Euchre enthusiasts gathered in the
sunroom for a few competitive games
in the afternoon. The Student Activa-
tion Aide spent the evening on read-
ing, games and visits, seeing several
residents.

we knew it won't last long.
Rev. John's sermon at Cavan United Church
was titled "God's New Alliance." After the ser-
vice, the last brunch of the winter was held with
sausage and eggs on the. menu. The brunch was
looked after by Susan and Larry Wheatley and
Ruth Campbell plus several other helpers.
Special musicians performed on March lb de-
lighting us with Irish melodies before and dur-
ing the service. They were Sherry and Murray
McCall, Orville Storey and Andrew Patrick.

Jim and Ann Bosman were busy during March .
break looking after granddaughters Sabryn and
Jocelyn while Tracy and Paul were in Italy on
a military. tour. Tracy spoke of her trip at the
Brussels Legion thispast weekend.
. Doug and Gail Schroeder have returned from a
trip to Myrtle Beach. Gail reports it rained the
first. three days but the remaining days were
warm enough for shorts. It was a relaxing week..
Doug enjoyed a few games of golf.

ing to preview the April events, review
March events and offer suggestions
and input. They are looking forward
to attending quarterly educational
'opportunities provided by experts in
various disciplines. An upcoming edu-
cational event will be "Exit Strategies,
or Laxatives?"
