Gladys Van Egmond and Her
Merrymakers provided rollicking
Irish music for the St. Patrick's
Party held Tuesday, March 17 at
the Queensway Nursing and Re-
tirement Home.
Residents danced to McNamara's
Band, When Irish Eyes are Smil-
ing, My Wild Irish Rose, and many
other Irish tunes. Kiwi juice, green
beer, shortbread shamrocks and
cupcakes were served to complete
the celebration.
The •Hensall Legion ladies provid-
ed prizes and assistance for bingo
players Monday afternoon.
Lori Burt, Registered Massage
Therapist spent the day at Queen-
sway providing her soothing servic-
es. Student Aide, Cassie had resi-
dents in the sunroom playing sports
games on tie ' Wii in the evening.
Volunteer Donna Smale was in
Tuesday morning to assist at break-
fast group, a favourite program for
residents as they benefit from help-
ing choose the menu and watching
while breakfast is .cooked to their
specifications.
Tuesday's church service was lead
by Rev. John Zwaan with Retire-
ment Home resident, .Freda John-
ston as volunteer pianist. Residents
dined on Irish Stew at their noon
meal with scones followed by honey
dew melon for dessert in acknowl-
edgment of St. Patrick's Day.

aide, Marsha.
Coffee & News started the day for
residents Thursday as they gath-
ered to peruse the daily, and local
papers over coffee and cookies.
Knitting group met in the after-
noon to work on dish cloths for our
future craft and bake sale.
Friday afternoon the tuck/library
cart made the rounds for everyone's
borrowing and purchasing conve-
nience and in the evening Martin
Gelinas provided the music for
Friendship Friday in the retire-
ment residence

for a full house
of appreciative
residents.
