' Large crowd gathers for `Friendship Friday' Friendship Friday in the Queensway Retirement Home lounge drew a large crowd Friday March 6 when Phyllis De- ichert on piano, Lois Hodgins playing the Violin, Jack Youngston with his gui- tar and Anne Youngston and Gwen 0 Rourke with their Dobro's entertained residents and guests. Their rendition of "Out Behind The Barn" had residents in stitches as did some of their other humorous tunes. Bingo games in April are sponsored by the Hensall Presbyterian Women each Monday afternoon. The • Legion Ladies who provided assistance and prizes in February. Residents benefit- ted from massage therapy with Lori Burt R.M.T. who spends each Monday at Queensway provided her Therapuet- ic Service. Tuesday morning Queensway's Auxil- iary/Family Council met to preview the March Calendar and upcoming events, offering their valuable support at the many scheduled programs. Maja reported the temperature at Earlton on Feb. 27 in the morning was minus 35 Celsius. Paul Dodds was in Nashville recently attending a New Holland meeting. Coffee time at the church on Fridays at 10 a.m. is going well. The church service on March 15 at Cavan will have a Celtic theme. Join us after the service for Irish stew and a social time. Tuesday's church service was lead by Rev. Anne Krueger of the Zurich Lu- theran .= Church. Rev. Anne gave Com- munion, assisted by volunteer Kay Mock to all residents wishing to receive it. Belva Fuss was pianist for the ser- vice. Wednesday afternoon baking group met to stir up• delicious date bran muf- fins and bake shortbread shamrocks for our upcoming St. Patricks party. Residents were pleased to have some family visitors join us for baking group and offer their verdict on our baking, which they pronounced delicious. Thursday morning, the Paper Hat Princesses of Community Living joined their friends anomm, at Queensway for a meeting in the Cafe with refreshments. Friday afternoon, residents had the opportunity to borrow books and make purchases from the tuck cart which ar- rives up on the unit each Friday after- noon.
