populations have now moved into
urban areas.
Urban residents cannot simply
dump their problem on rural Ontar-
io by releasing trapped coyotes. It's
illegal, unfair and moreover, inhu-
mane!
Urban residents need to solve their
own coyote problems, as we in rural
and agricultural Ontario have been
doing for years. Lobbying Ministry
of Natural Resources for comprehen-
sive species management strategies
would be a good start. Welcome to
our world.

"Most of the people who come through the
door are doing something for the community
in some manner and I agree with Bernie that
I don't know how you're going to decide wbois
more useful to the community and who is less,"
he said.
Clerk -Administrator Jack McLachlan said
about 50 licences are attministered each year
through the municipality, which earns about
$8,000 a year for Huron East. A lottery licence
involves a fee of three per tent of the prize
money given away.
"We havetoissue the licence and follow up to
make sure they file the financial reports," he
said.
A letter from Huron East Fire
Chief Marty Bedard pointed out that
al three of Huron East's fire stations
have used raffles ands lottery tick-
ets to raise money for items such as
breathing 'apparatus, thermal imag-
ing cameras, defibrillators and extri-
cation equiptnent.
