Huron East has approved a leasing agree-
ment between itself and both Gateway Rural
Health Research Institute and Dr. Carolin
Shepherd at the new Huron East Health Cen-
tre. 1 - }J otj,,;y
The agreement with Gateway is a five-year
lease of two doctor pods with first right of re-
fusal on seven offices in .the southwest corner
of the building, currently occupied by the On-
tario Secondary School Teachers Federation
and Healthkick Huron.
Dr. Shepherd entered a lease for one doctor
pod.
Minutes of the Huron East Health Centre
Managment Committee state that tenants who
have completed and signed rental agreements
also include the Ontario Secondary School
Teachers Federation, the Huron Business De-
velopment Corporation for HealthKick Huron
and the Huron Family Health Team.
The FHT has rented the entire north side of
the building, including three \ doctor pods, one
of which is being used by two nurse practitio-
ners and two of which are still empty.
As well, there are still two doctor pods that
are empty and unrented.
Huron East Clerk -Administrator Jack
McLachlan said he's still expecting the remain-
ing four family doctors in Seaforth to move into
the new health centre and is anticipating he'll
have signed agreements from them in a few
weeks.
