Huron Expositor, 2009-01-28, Page 19e Keeping drainage ditch Clear seen as solution to flooded subdivision From Page 8 other than r9sidents saying it's the town's problem and the town saying it's the residents' problem," he said. Briarhill resident Shawn Allen said some sort of solution is needed to stop the flooding. "It's obvious we're going to have a lot of snow in this area but I can't afford $30,000 worth of damage in my basement every two years. I don't care if it means a 30 -inch drain do it," he said. Another Briarhill resident, Dora Mote asked if Huron East would consider a berm to prevent water from coming across the agricultural field behind the subdivision. Mills responded that there could be all sorts of solutions including a drainage pond. Seili said that because there are two differ- ent drainage systems both outside and inside the subdivision, that town staff would have to take another look at the problem. "This is an abnormal snow year. You've got to keep that in mind," he said. "We'll do some more investigation and bring. something back to the next meeting."
