At U.S. president Barack Obama's
Inauguration in Washington, D.C.
Jan. 20, celebrations in the city in-
cluded a unique flair — from Hen-
sall.
Two massive ice -block vodka
bars from IceCulture Inc. were on
display at two separate inaugural
balls — the Maryland Democratic
Party gala at the Mayflower Hotel
and Garden State inaugural ball at
Washington Court.
Although the events are not con-
sidered "official" inaugural balls
and Obarna will not be attending
either venue, it's exciting to be part
of an historic event that attracted
the attention of millions across the
world, says IceCulture Inc.'s co-
founder Julian Bayley.
Bayley says about 2,000 people
planned to attend the two events
that featured the vodka bars, in-
cluding a distinguished list of at-
tendees from members of congress
and administration officials to cor-
porate leaders And other dignitar-
ies.
Bayley got the gig through Nolet
Spirits of California — one of his
biggest customers. -Nolet got the
contract through Ketel One Vodka,
of Holland.
"The bars are
not much differ-
ent than most
that we do," Bay-
ley says. "We did
the (George W)
Bush inaugural
balls as well."
Each bar mea-
sures eight feet
wide and is 18 to
20 inches thick
and weighs about
2,000 pounds.
Bayley says it
took about two
hours to cut the
ice and in total
about half a day
to pack and ship
the bars, which
were transported
across the border
by truck.
"Maybe five The Ice -block vodka
or six people events In Washingto
worked on it, all
coming from different departments
(such as) designers and packers,"
he says.

Hummel and Greg Smith flew

The Huron County Health Unit wants to ensure that';
parents of young children know that Health Canada
has recalled some Stork Craft Baby Cribs. There have
been almost half a million cribs sold in Canada at major
stores.
All Stork Craft cribs with a manufacturing date be-
tween May 2000 and November 2008 are included in this
voluntary recall. The manufacturing date can be found
on the lower right hand corner of the instrudtion sheet
which is glued on the mattress base.
The cribs were sold in various styles and finishes. The
manufacture date, model number, crib name, country of
origin, and the .firm's name, address, and contact infor-
mation are located on the assembly instruction sheet at-
tached to the mattress support board. The firm's insignia
"storkcraft baby" is inscribed on the drop side teething
rail of some cribs.
The metal support brackets used to support the mat-
tress frame can crack and break after stress is put upon
them during incorrect installation. If one or more sup-
port brackets break, the mattress could potentially col-
lapse and create a dangerous gap between the mattress
and crib rails in which a child can become entrapped and
suffocate.
Health Canada reports it has received one complaint in
which the metal mattress support bracket failed.
The products meet current safety standards. Stork
Craft, in cooperfition with Health Canada, is conducting
a voluntary recall of this consumer product.
Consumers should not return the crib. All consumers
with cribs manufactured between May 2000 and Novem-
ber 2008 should contact Stork Craft to receive a free re.
placement kit with new mattress support brackets. 0744‘,0
For more information, consumers may contact Stork
Craft toll-free at 866-361-3321 anytime to order the free 4
replacement kit or log on to www.storkcraft.com.
