CONFLAGRATION AVERTED,
On Wednesday evening of last week
the woodwork near -the chimney in the
home of \lr. E. J. Wethey, owned by
.Mr, Fred Ellerington, became ignited,
and only for the quick work of several

scene the house might have been de-
stroyed. A door frame was torn out
and the flames readily extinguished,
