The local boys have fixed up a
hockey schedule and. are having a dot
of fun ,playing their games. It is a
good way to develope hockey players.
The hockey match arranged for last

storm tied up the railway and the vis-
itors were unable, 'to get here, The

Hopkins of the Women's Institute
department, Toronto, are early in
March, to take a 'trifp to London, too
see the new University of Weis'tern
Ontario; the War Memorial Children's
Hospital, and other interesting places,
as welt asbeing entertained, to alunch
at Smallman & Ingram's.

A local town hoekey league has it
been 'formed in Exeter for the re- t ;�
mainder• of the winter, The league i PHONE 32

town and two from the country. The
first games were played Tuesday
evening, the six teams taking part
The first game will be played from
London Thursday evening, the league
games this week will be played 'Fri-
day night. A small admission fee
7 to 8,, the second from 8 to 9, and
the third from 9 to 10. Games will
be played erich. Tuesday and Thurs-
day evening unless something inter-
venes. On account of the game with

having pleasant winter weather -fair

Windsor has an epidemic of small-
pox in virulent form -five deaths hav-
ing occurred in two days. `Vaccina-
tion, has beanordered, and every pre-
caution is being taken to prevent its
spread.

have been living in Windsor for ,sec
erel months, intend, returning in a
couple of weeks to Exeter to reside,
and we understand, will occupy the
borne of Mrs. Albert Ford, Huron
street.
The heavy storm of wind and snow
of Tuesday and Wednesday last fin-
ally blew itself out; and, on, Friday the
railway was abide to ,resume its regular
service in,, tinis district A day or two
longer 'dere needed' in some places
in Western Ontario to clear the tracks.
It is several years since we had such
great heaps of snow as, we have naw.
Warrants are to be issued against the
men who prophesied the open win-
ter, but they have probably dug them-
selves in and wi{U not appear until
the thaw comes -and when at comes,
look .out for slush.

Any person who takes a paper reg-
ulrarly from the post office, whether
addressed in his name or anothers, or
whether he hats subscribed or not, is
responsible for payment.
If a person orders his paper discon-
tinued he must pay all arrears, ea the
publisher may continue to send it until
payment is` made end then collect the
whole amount whether ,the paper is
taken or not.
The courts have decided that refus-
ing to take newspapers or periodicals
from the ,post office, or removing them
and leaving them unpaid, is prima facie
evidence of intention of fraud.
