Tracy McLennan gives Vimy Ridge
presentation at Cavan United Church
The weather is getting more
November like in Winthrop. There
are still quite a few fields of corn
not harvested and there are still
trees with quite a few leaves.
The service at Cavan United
Church was changed for this
Sunday only. Tracy (Bosman)
McLennan gave her Vimy Ridge
presentation.
Last April students and teachers
from S.H.D.H.S., Exeter travelled to
France where they visited several
cemeteries as well as other points of
interest connected with the two
world wars. Several graves of local
men were located. Tracy is a teacher
at the Exeter school and her presen-
tation was both interesting and
informative.
Greeters were Glen McClure and
Don Dodds. Collectors were Don
and Maja Dodds. A social time fol-
lowed with Marg McClure and Maja
in charge of refreshments.
A session meeting will be held at
Cavan Church on Thursday, Nov 8
at 7:30 p.m.
Next Sunday, Nov. 11, service will
be at the regular time of 9:30 a.m.
This is Remembrance Day and it
will be observed at the service.
Marion and John Cooper of
Jacksonville, Florida visited with
Don and Maja Dodds last week.
Marion and Maja are cousins.
The newly -remodeled home on the
east side of North Line in Winthrop
