The Huron Expositor • November 7, 2007 Page 37 Huron County libraries to accept food for fines All branches of the Huron County Library will be participat- ing in the 'Food for Fines' program again this year. From Nov. 17 to 24, the libraries will accept non-perishable food items in place of cash for overdue library fines. This project is offered through the Huron County Library in part- nership with the Huron County Health Unit and local food banks. "This is a popular initiative among Ontario's public libraries. Monday afternoon the Hensall United Church women provided prizes and assistance for their last bingo of the month. Euchre players .gathered in the dining room with volun- teer Francis Kinsman on Wednesday for a lively after- noon of cards. Pumpkin carving occupied several others as they creat- ed various Halloween faces for display at our front entrance. Residents were entertained by an amazing array of cos- tumed staff throughout the day with a favourite being the expectant black cat. Coffee & Current events drew a good crowd Thursday followed by food committee where everyone was happy to give input and suggestions for food services. Candle crafts was the focus in the afternoon when a group worked on making various sizes of beeswax can- dles to sell at our craft and bake sale Saturday, Nov. 17. Lisa Stewart, music thera- pist spent a productive morning working with resi- dents Friday going from small music group to Chime Choir. Baking group also met Friday and tried out a recipe for Divine Toffee Squares which they agreed upon sampling truly was divine. In the evening Andy's friends entertained at Friendship Friday. in the Retirement Home Lounge. Community mourns Evans William Evans, formerly of Dublin, passed away on Oct. 23, at the Greater Niagara General Hospital. He is survived by his wife, Marjorie and children Jo -Anne (James) Arnold; Colleen (James) Tatamic and James (Christine) Evans. His funeral was held at Sacred Heart Church, Chippawa, Ontario on Friday, Oct. 26 with burial in Niagara Falls. Sympathy is extend- ed to all his family particularly to Marie (Jack) Cleary (his sister).
