March 20, 1916. He
later joined the 18th
Battalion of the
Canadian Infantry
(Western Ontario
Regiment). He is
buried at Crouy British
Cemetery, Crouy-Sur-
Somme, France. He
was 22 years old.
Pte. Charles
McNamara - was born
on October 4, 1893 at
Seaforth, Ontario and
died on July 1, 1920.
He was the son of
Charles McNamara, of
Seaforth, Ontario and
Mrs. McNamara. He
was a labourer by
trade. Pte. McNamara
enlisted on February
24, 1916 at Seaforth,
Ontario with D -
Company of the 161st
Huron Battalion. He
joined the 161st
Battalion of the
Canadian Infantry,
Canadian
Expeditionary Force.
Private McNamara
survived Great War
Duty and returned
from overseas service.
However, his health
must have been ruined
by "trench fever" and
he passed away at his
home town. He was
buried at St. James'
Cemetery, Seaforth,
Ontario, Canada. He
was 26 years old.
Lt. George
B u c h a n n a n
Mulholland - was
born on January 14,
1896 at Hensall,
Ontario and died on
March 21, 1917. He
was the son of William
and Isabel Moir
Mulholland, of
Seaforth, Ontario and
was a druggist by
trade. He belonged to
the 33rd Regiment and
saw seven months of
Active Service with the
70th Battalion, CEP.
Lt. Mulholland enlisted
on August 16, 1916. He.
was placed with the

erans and Legion members into Egmondville United
for the annual Remembrance church service.
19th Battalion with the
Canadian Infantry
(Central Ontario
Regiment). He is
buried at Ecoivres
Military Cemetery, Pas
de Calais, France. He
was 21 years old.
Pte. Arthur Cecil
Neely - was born on
April 1, 1885, Seaforth,
Ontario and died on
June 26, 1917. He was
the son of Simeon and
Mary Neely of
Seaforth, Ontario was
a baker by trade. He
had six years of former
military service with
the 33rd Huron
Battalion. He later
joined the 58th
Battalion of the
Canadian Infantry
(Central Ontario
Regiment). Pte. Neely
is buried at La
Chaudiere Military
Cemetery, Pas de
Calais, France. He was
32.years of age.
Parke, A.T. - no infor-
mation
Corporal John
Joseph Purcell - was
born on April 25, 1888
in Seaforth, Ontario
and died on September
27, 1918. His next of
kin (on his attestation
papers) was ' Mrs.
Bridget Purcell and
was a brakeman by
trade. he enlisted on
September 10, 1915 at
Stratford, Ontario. Cpl.
Purcell was a member
of the 46th Battalion
with the Canadian
Infantry
(Saskatchewan
Regiment). He is
buried at Cagnicourt
British Cemetery, Pas
de Calais, France. He
was 30 years old.
Charles Manson
Reid - was born on
March 3, 1889 in
Ashfield Twp. Huron
County, Ontario. He
was a farmer by trade
and his next -of -king
(according to his attes-
tation papers) was his
mother, Mrs. William
Reid. -He had two years
of former service with
the 33rd Battalion
Militia and was com-
missioned on May 1,
1916 at Boisservain,
Manitoba. Death:
unknown.

Lance Serjeant John
Leslie Reid - was born
on April 30, 1885 in
Brussels, Ontario and
died on April 24, 1915.
He was the son of John
H. and Sara E. Waugh
Reid, of Seaforth,
Ontario. He had three
years former service
with the Cadet Corps
and enlisted on
September. 13, 1914 at
Valcartier, Quebec. He
became a part of the
5th Regiment Royal
Highlanders of
Canada. He later
became part of the 13th
Battalion of the
Canadian Infantry
(Quebec regiment). He

has no known grave
and is named on the
Menin Gate, Ypres
(Ieper) Belgium. He
was 30 years old.
Lance Corporal
Rupert Elwyn
Rivers - was born on
May 1, 1892 at Perth,
Ontario and died on
June 5, 1916. His next-
of -kin was his mother,
Eliza Rivers and was a
student by trade. He
was teaching at
Hagersville, but was
studying medicine
(1914-1914); C.O.T.C.
In April, 1915, before
the end of his first year,
he enlisted in the 35th
Battalion, and went
overseas in October: At
the end of May, 1916,
he joined the 49th
Battalion with the
Canadian Infantry
(Alberta Regiment) on
the Ypres front. Less
than a week later he
was reported as miss-
ing between June 2 and
5th. On June 3rd, the
battalion advanced to
the counter-attack on
Sanctuary Wood with
heavy losses, and held
the ground gained
through the next day
until relieved on June
5th. He has no known
grave and his name can
