McLennan to talk about Vimy Ridge trip
We are now at the end of
October and the weather is sea-
sonal in Winthrop. I remember
snow sometimes at Halloween.

Cavan's 132nd Anniversary
Service was held this past
Sunday. Rev. John took the ser-
vice and Rev. Cheryl -Ann
Stadelbauer-Sampa of Central
United in Stratford was guest
speaker.
Guest soloist was Kirby Cook
of Blyth. Greeters and collectors
were Betty Glanville, Lori Goos,
Ann Bosman and Ruth
Campbell.
Next Sunday at Cavan after
the regular 9:30 a.m. service
Tracy McLennan will share her
experiences while visiting Vimy
Ridge and Canadian War
Cemeteries in Europe with stu-
dents from her school.
Neil Dolmage has qualified for
the brown enve-
lope and Judy

passed the half century mark
recently.
Sympathy of the community is
extended to Ross and Joyce
Ribey on the passing of Ross'
sister.
Don and Maja Dodds attended
the Gelderland/Earle wedding at
Trent University, Peterborough
on Oct. 27.
Joan Prewitt, of Niagara -on -
the -Lake, spent two days last
week with Don, Maja and Paul
Dodds. She also visited her
grandmother at Queensway in
Hensall and with Lynne and
Ron Godkin and family.
On Friday evening, I attended
the wedding of Elly Van Bergen
and Ivan Dow. I was part of a
45+ member choir which con-
sisted of choir members of about
10 churches where Elly has been
Pastor. The Egmondville Church
had very few seats left for the

Loreen McDougall from London and Jean Ryan
from Dublin attended the wedding of Christine
Eisler and Darrell Schoonderwoerd. The reception
was held at the Mitchell Community Centre on
Saturday, Oct. 20. These ladies are great aunts of
Darrell.

Julie Phillips graduated June 9, from Lambton
College with a Diploma in Registered Practical
Nursing. She has successfully completed the
requirements for registration with the College of
Nurses of Ontario. She previously attended St.
Anne's Cgtholic Secondary School and St. James
School. She is. the daughter of Doug and Cheryl
Phillips of Egmondville and granddaughter of
Marjorie Dale of Seaforth.

Douglas Phillips, son of Doug and Cheryl Phillips of Egmondville and grandson of
Marjorie Dale of Seaforth, exchanged wedding vows in a beautiful outdoor ceremo-
ny, on July 28, 2007, at the home of the bride's parents. Rev. Ernest Dow officiated.
Matron of honour was Amanda Rutledge with Savannah Rutledge as flower girl.
Bridal attendants were Julie Phillips, Jenny Phillips, Stefanie DeJong Ekta Patel,
Maranda Blake, Traci Taylor, Chelsea Schoenhals and AJ Mazza. Best man was Jamie
McDougall. Groomsmen included Jordan Ruston Adam Riley, Rob McIntosh, Jay
McConnell, Christepher Howson, Tyler Obre, Nathan Steffler and Mike Johnston.
