Schades celebrate 50th wedding anniversary
We have had a breezy few days but
nice temperature in Winthrop. Anyone
doing any driving can observe the beau-
tiful colours of the trees, maple mostly.
If you drive North Main in Seaforth,
take note of two or three brilliant trees
near Franklin Street. I have noticed, for
several years, they put on a gorgeous dis-
play.
Susan and Brian MacDonald visited
Susan's family in Ripley and attended a
special church service.
Don and Maja Dodds visited Maja's
mother at Queensway in Hensall and
celebrated the home's Thanksgiving with
turkey and all the trimmings.
A large number of people attended the
open house for Elgin and Ruth Schade
on their 50th anniversary. They were
married Oct. 5,
1957 at Listowel
United Church
(now Trinity
United) in Listowel.
Ruth commented
that the weather
was similar to
Saturday without
the wind.
There was no ser-
vice at Cavan
United Church this
past Sunday as it
was Northside's
anniversary.
The group "Oracle" presented a message
in music and song. Those attending
enjoyed the presentation immensely.
Oct. 28 is anniversary service at
Cavan United Church. Guest speaker at
the 11 a.m. service will be Rev. Cheryl
Stadelbauer-Sampa, formerly of
Egmondville. All are welcome. Lunch
will follow after the service.
On Nov 4, there will be a special ser-
vice featuring Tracy McLennan
