noon to make spiced apple muffins
which on completion tasted much
better than they looked.
After discussion it was decided
that they were best consumed

introduced our speaker Joan
Pierson, a soft-spoken 84 -year-old
lady from London. She has written
books, been on TV, radio, wrote in
the "Family Herald," "Chateldine."
She had a bouquet of "cosmos,"
an annual that's easy to grow.
"Perennial Impatiens": take cut-
tings, root them up and plant out
in spring. "Cory Dalis" seed them-
selves and come up every year.
She said her husband was a
"lawn nut" so it was not until he
died she turned her place into
flower beds and a place for chil-
dren to enjoy.
Margaret DeJong took the chair
and called on Beatrice Stoll to read
the September minutes. Dilys
Finnigan gave the treasurer's
report. David and Marilyn
Nqrman will take over as co -trea-
surers. The Legion asked for a
wreath to be laid at the cenotaph.
Margaret DeJong will do that.
Janny Streutker reported that
plants left over from Ciderfest
were planted at Egmondville
Cemetery. Helen McNaughton sold
tickets for the November catered
dinner. Tom Dunbar is our speak-
er. The red geraniums at the north
bed are free to anyone wanting to
winter them.
Nancy Kale asked anyone wanti-
ng a memorial stone put in the
peace garden to let her know.
