Seaforth outscored but not
outplayed, says SPS coach
Seaforth Public School sent a boys'
and a girls' team to Huron
Centennial Monday for a soccer
tournament against Hullett, Blyth,
Huron Centennial and Clinton
schools.
In their first game, SPS boys lost
1-0 to Hullett. They went on to win
3-1 against Blyth and lose 1-0 to
Huron Centennial and 4-0 to
Clinton.
In their last game, the boys played
Huron Centennial again, winning 2-
1.
The girls lost their first three
games to Huron Centennial (1-0),
Blyth (2-0) and Clinton (2-1). They
won their last game with Hullett 2-
0.
"It actually went very well," said
girls coach Georgina Reynolds.
"Those scores are all really close, so
all the teams are close. I said to the
girls after one game that they out-
played them, but
didn't outscore
them."
Reynolds said
that was the
story of the day.
"If you don't
score, you don't
win," she said.
"We had huge
teams. Eighteen
boys went and
about 20 girls.
They all got to
play," she said.
"That's what it's
all about."
