two soccer teams
to Brucefield
Seaforth Public School fielded two teams at a
regional tournament at Huron Centennial
Public School last Thursday.
Robyn Carnochan coached the boys team.
During their final game of the day against
Clinton, she said the day was going well.
"We have one of each right now," she said. "A
win, a tie and a loss."
They tied against Huron Centennial, won 1-0
against Hullett and lost to Blyth.
Then they lost to Clinton in the final game.
The girls team lost to Hullett, Huron
Centennial and Blyth before tying Clinton 1-1.
"It's a fun tournament," said girls team coach
Georgina Reynolds during the game against
Clinton. "We haven't done too bad. We haven't
done really well, but as long as they play their
hardest, that's all we care about."
She said the tournament gives kids who might
not have an opportunity to play soccer during
the summer a chance to play.
The Blyth boys team and the Huron
Centennial girls team won the tournament. The
schools don't keep track of further placement.
