I just want to make sure that people like Chelsea, in the future, don't have to have a cure. I just don't want them to have it whatsoever." St. James School more than tripled the amount of money they raised this year over last year, rising from $471.70 to $1,580. She said this is an all-time high since the school started doing the walk in 2000. Since 'then, St. James School has raised $6,283.45. "It was just a remarkable achieve- ment," said Lombardi, "especially, and I really think this needs to be noted, since Seaforth had its own Terry Fox run back on Sept. 16." She said she's particularly impressed by how the community had already had an opportunity to raise money for cancer research but "still dug deep into their pockets" for the fundraising event last Friday. "Hats off to my parents and their kids because they really got behind it," she said. She also commended the teachers for making sure the students were well-informed and educated about Terry Fox's story.
