Chicken wings and membership draws
kick off Legion recruitment drive
The membership drive at the
Seaforth Legion last Friday night
got off to a great start with the
aroma of chicken wings and the
desire of members to pay their dues
and win a free membership for the
year 2009.
Seven' lucky, draws were made
with the winners being Gord
Carnochan, Jim Davies, Joan
Wilbee, Paul Matthews, Mike
Bettles, Ken Swan Jr. and Bedford
Taylor.

Nuhn, the membership chairper-
sons, won the early bird member-
ship award last year for the highest
paid-up members and are well on
their way this year for a repeat per-
formance.
Comrade Cub Bettles and crew
did a great job on the cooking.
We will be going to Parkwood
Hospital on Oct. 20 so bring in your
St. Patrick's C.W.L.
Christmas dinner to be
held in late November
Cor Fourteen is
being held on the
weekend of Oct.
26-28 in Dublin. This retreat
experience is for 16 -21 -year-
olds. It's a fun and faith -filled
weekend with great music and
surprises.
Information for those interest-
ed is available at church
entrances and at high schools.
Apply by Oct. 19 - fee is $45.
St. Patrick's C.W.L. Christmas
Dinner will be held on Thursday,
Nov. 8 at St. Patrick's Church
Hall. Social at 6 p.m. Supper at
6:30 p.m.The catered meal is
$12 for adults and $6 for 6 years
of age and under.
Volunteers are still needed for
help at St. Patrick's Cemetery. If

noon on Oct. 13 with Comrade Gord
Dick and colour party attending.
The Legion will be having their
Remembrance Service at the
Egmondville Church on Nov. 4. The
Remembrance Dinner will be at the
Legion on Nov. 10 and the
Remembrance Day Parade to the
Cenotaph on Nov. 11 with the Poppy
Drive to' be held in the afternoon
with Comrade Rick Fortune in
charge.
On Nov. 15, Zone Commander
Stew Taylor will be at the General
Meeting so plan to attend.
At the going down of the sun and
in the morning we will remember
them.
