At Hensall United Church, Eve McAllister welcomed everyone to the service. The ushers were Eleanor and Eric Mansfield. Rev Keith Lewis's message was "Getting Stuck in the Mud." At Carmel Presbyterian Church, service began with Joyce Pepper playing an organ prelude. The ushers were Al Hoggarth and Frank Varley. Jan Maclnnes was the guest minister. The Hensall and Community Horticultural Society's October meeting will be held at Hensall United Church at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 15. The Scarecrow Contest winners will be special guests. The guest speaker will be Susan from Ferguson Apiaries. The guest speaker for World Wide Communion Service was Rev. Dr. Cyril Yearwood from Toronto. He is Pastor at Drake Memorial British Episcopal Church in Brantford. Rev. John and pastor Steve took the communion service. All three churches participated in the sacra- ment. The Winthrop Quartet was to sing at this service but since I was ill it turned out to be the Winthrop Trio plus two from Northside. Audrey and Joan filled in at the last minute. Next Sunday is Thanksgiving and service at Cavan United Church will be at its usual time of 9:30 a.m. On Wednesday evening, Cavan U.C.W. held a meeting to discuss several new updates to the basement.
