Seaforth's lawn bowling
season winding down
The season of
lawn bowling is
winding down at
the Seaforth Greens
and each day sees
greens.
Seaforth bowlers have been active
in out-of-town tournaments as on
Aug. 30 at the Thistle Club, London,
Jack and Marie Muir won third in
the Getty Tournament. Fred Tilley
and Carol Carter placed sixth.
Saturday, Sept. 1 at the Sarnia
Trebles Machan Snowball
Tournament saw Fred and Carol
and Lee Ryan win second while Rick_
Wood, Donna and Neil Beuerman
picked up fifth.
Sunday, Sept. 2 saw a good
turnout at the Seaforth Greens for
'the Legion Tournament with Neil
Beuerman as Drawmaster.
First prize went to Wayne Wright
of Thamesford and Andrea Stadyk,
of Exeter. Jack and Marie Muir
were second, Fred Tilley and Donna
Beuerman third, Chuck and Kathy
Townsend of Fairmont Club, London
were fourth, followed by Rick and
Barb Elliott, Lee Ryan and Carol
Carter in fifth. Consolation went to
Ernie and Freda

The Elmer Murray . Memorial
Tournament was held at the Clinton
Greens on Saturday with a full
entry. Elmer was a familiar figure
at the greens for many years.
Winning first prize were Fred
Tilley and Janet Rumig of Goderich,
Jack and Marie Muir were fourth,
Erich and Joyce Matzold sixth and
Tom Phillips and Trudy Hill of
Clinton won the consolation.
Diane March and George Wilson
of Burlington won the gold medal in
provincial mixed pairs and went on
to the Canadian championships at
Fredericton winning a silver medal
there. Diane is the former Diane
Finlayson, daughter of Mary and
the late Art Finlayson. She learned
to bowl at the Seaforth Greens.
Sunday, Sept. 16 saw 15 greens in
play for the annual "Thelma
Coombs Memorial" tournament at
the Seaforth Lawn Bowling Club.

SEAFORTH MINOR HOCKEY WOULD LIKE TO ANNOUNCE that Saturday
morning House League will be starting Oct. 6. Teams have been posted for both junior
and senior divisions. Coaches or helpers are needed for each team in order to fill out game
sheets, get sweaters and organize the team on the bench. Children registered for House
League ONLY will begin on Sept. 28 at 4:30pm.
The start times have changed this year. Senior games will start at lam and 8am while the
junior games will begin at 9am and)Oam. If children aged 14 or older want to referee
House League, please contact Geit`y Gibbs. If you do not see your name or would like to
he moved to a different team, please contact John Taylor by Oct. 5.
