Art show the culmination of a summer of learning
Local art teacher Andrea Longstaff's students display sculpture and masterpieces

Art with Andrea sang its swan
song with an art show.
On Aug. 23, the students of
Andrea Longstaff displayed their
masterpieces for friends and fami-
ly at the Optimist Hall in
Seaforth.
The art show displayed the stu-
dents' final masterpieces as well
as other pieces the students did
during the classes like collages
and sculptures.
Art with Andrea consisted of
three classes: a craft class with
two students from Clinton, an ele-
ments of art program with two
students and make a masterpiece,
a class with seven students who
had their art on
display.
Longstaff
has taught
classes before
and of her expe-
riences this
summer she
says she is "def-
initely" happy
with her class-
es. "The kids
were great."
Mikaylee
Klaver, 8, was
one of the stu-
dents displaying
their work. She
says she liked
the classes and
in particular
learning about
art with a Q -
Tip, using the
Q -Tip as the
paint brush.

ture."
She says it took some time but
eventually the students opened
up.
"I'm just really glad they
enjoyed,it. And I'm amazed at the
work they did."
In short time too, as the pro-
gram was five hour-long classes.
"I think we have 11 little artists
in our community."
She will be teaching more this
fall at the Art Gallery in Goderich
and may be coming out with some
more Art with Andrea classes
soon.
