Brief
Firefighters
respond to
straw fire
Seaforth firefighters
responded to a call on
Bridge Road last
Thursday at 4:30 p.m.
when a truckload of
straw bales caught on
fire.
Huron Fire Chief
Marty Bedard said
firefighters moved the
truck off the road and
knocked the bales off
the truck to be able to
extinguish the blaze.
"That stuff catches
on fire so easily since
it's so dry," said
Bedard, adding the
cause of the fire is
unknown.
Firefighters were on
the scene for about an
hour and a half.
