Queensway residents look forward to ice-cream sundaes
Residents enjoyed beautiful weather on
Sunday, July 29 for their picnic lunch and
trip to the Clinton Horse Races. Adding to
the excitement for everyone was the fact
that staff member Kathy McClure had
several horses racing throughout the after-
noon.
Monday, July 30 residents were busy
working through their exercise routines
with lbnya and in the afternoon Kippen
United Church women were in to assist
Residents with Bingo.

Ziiesday, July 31 dined on fried eggs, toast,
cheese wedges, fruit, coffee and tea.
Everyone likes the more intimate dining
atmosphere for up to eight people in the
small family dining area.
Pastor Elly Van Bergen led Worship
Tuesday, July 31 afternoon with Belva
Fuss as volunteer organist. Also in the
afternoon Karen Lehnen of VON
Palliative Care Volunteer program led a
workshop on JoLunaling and Life Review,
ways to enhance the end of life experience.
The workshop was open
to staff, residents and
volunteers.

Smale, organized 'the
Euchre players Wednesday afternoon on
Aug. 1 with several residents out to com-
pete fora few games.
Retirement home residents dined out-
doors in the courtyard Thursday on a deli-
cious meal of A,alads and pork riblettes
barbecued by Volunteer Klaas Van
Wieren. Later in the evening The
Merrymakers entertained at the monthly
birthday party. Keith Tyndall on the
chums, Gladys Van Egmond playing piano
and accordion, with George 'loner singing
several solo's made for a beautiful evening
of music.

Resident Council met Friday morning
to preview upcoming events and offer their
ideas and input regarding programs.
Everyone loved the recent 'Build your own
Icecream Suntan" program and are look-
ing forward to having it scheduled several
Monday afternoons in

Stewart was in on
Friday and plans are
underway to establish a Chime group by
mid August.
Kippen United Church women supplied
assistance and prizes for the last bingo in
July at the Queensway Nursing Home.
Bingo will resume in September with
the Hensall Presbyterian women.
Monday afternoon's in August, resi-
dents will be outdoors by the fountain
enjoying ice cream sundaes.

hot weather to be living in air-conditioned
comfort. The walks and wheelchair rides
outdoors have been curtailed somewhat
during the heat wave.
Donna Smale had a good crowd out for
euchre on Wednesday afternoon.
Thursday morning the food committee
met to discuss food issues and offer opin-
ions and suggestions. All were looking for-
ward to husking corn in the afternoon as
well as blanching and peeling fresh peach-
es for the supper dessert. Everyone enjoys
the fresh produce of the season.
Lisa Stewart, registered music therapist
was in Friday providing her very effective
service to the music lovers among us.
Queensway implemented security mea-
sures during the recent alert while police
were looking for Jesse Imeson.
