O'Donnell collecting fossils since childhood

in something he enjoys.
"It helps me feel better about
myself and keep on living," he said.
O'Donnell usually gets out to do a
fossil exhibit about once a month,
but with the library running a pro-
gram called Lost Worlds, he's busier.
"I'm in a few more libraries than
normal," he said. "One or two a
week."
He finds it tiring, saying his med-
ication slows him down quite a bit.
He has to weigh the cases he car-
ries fossils in to make sure they
weigh less than 25 lbs. Lifting any-
thing heavier will make the
aneurysm grow.
"Then you can end up having it
burst," he said. "When it bursts, you
can end up like that actor John
Ritter. He died from an aneurysm."

O'Donnell was diagnosed a little
more than seven years ago.
He didn't talk to the kids about the
aneurysm during the Seaforth
exhibit, but was frank about it when
speaking to parents afterward.
The Fossil Guy Will be doing
exhibits for London public libraries
and a few religious day camps
throughout the summer.
