"This is an outstanding response from the art community and we are delighted with the results," says committee member Mary Lou Hyde of Exeter. "The support of our sponsors and help from the committee and volun- teers has been fabulous." The showcase includes multi media art with more than 180 pieces including 'flatwork', sculp- ture, photography/digital art and fabric. Youth and First Time Exhibitor categories successfully brought in budding new artists. Judging the pieces were Barry Private Investors; Glenn Hayter, Richman, Artist, Grand Financial Advisor) for Bend; John Rutledge, rigsmoTh Architect, Goderich; and Marion Ducette, Art Gallery, Clinton. The judges said nar- rowing the field down was an immense challenge. Judith Elder - McCartney of Seaforth won in Fabric (sponsored by Hensall & District Kinette Club) for "Archangel of the Light". � � "Deathmask". Bill Ellison of Strathroy won in Photography /Digital Art (sponsor Hensall District Co-opera- tive Inc.) for "Dockside". Paula Letheren of Bayfield won in Sculpture (spon- sored by Hensall & District Kinsmen Club) for Rowcliffe Trucking; Four Seasons JewelleryDesign) for "Spring Thaw at the Lake's Edge". Allysa Wein of Thamesford won Youth (sponsored by George Pratt Plumbing and Heating) for "Crushed". Dianne Fries earned an hon- ourable mention (sponsored by hensall.by.design) for "The Titian Venus in a Bowl of Fruit". The show is open Wednesday and Thursday 10 a.m. - 9 p.m. and Friday 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. At the end of the week, the People's Choice Award (spon- sored by Eric Campbell Ford Lincoln Ltd.) will be presented. Next year's show will be July 12 to July 18.
