Dolmages travel through Alaska and British Columbia
We are having comfortable
weather temperatures but not
much rain in Winthrop. The
lawn mowers are not getting as
much use as usual at this time
of year.
Wayne and Sheila Dolmage
recenty returned from an enjoy-
able trip to the western part of
British Columbia and Alaska.
They travelled to Vancouver by
air where they spent two days
before boarding the ship
Princess Saffhire. This ship was
new in 2004, holds 2,670 people
and a crew of 1,100 and is 960
feet long.
Their first stop was at
Kitchikan, Alaska where they
toured a fish hatchery, saw sev-
eral native artifacts, including
totem ,poles and bald-headed
eagles. It was then on to Juneau
where they attended a seafood
cooking school, toured the
Alaskan Brewery and
Mendenhall Glaciers.

section of terrain on to Carcross
and Fraiser.
Next was a trip through the
mountains by train before
boarding the ship for Whittier.
In this area, the saw more
glaciers.
They travelled by bus to
Anchorage and then flew to
Fairbanks where they toured
the City of Gold, saw the Alaska
pipeline and panned for gold.
Next was a riverboat tour of
the Chena River. Their next step

Next stop
was Anchorage
where they
boarded the plane for
Minneapolis and Toronto. They
enjoyed the trip immensely and
report very little rainy weather
throughout the whole trip.
Bob and Laurene Regele and
Bob and Ruth Campbell took in
the Scottish Festival in
Kincardine on Saturday. It was
an interesting time watching all
the bands compete.
Bands were in attendance
from all over Ontario. The kilts
were beautiful and such a vari-
ety of tartans. Highland dancing
and other events were on the
program as well.

FACT OR FANTASY? (above)
Millicent Milroy of Galt, Ontario claimed, until her
dying day, to be the wife of Edward VIII (Yes, that
Edward who abdicated the throne and married
commoner Wallis Simpson!) Darren Keay (left) plays
the charming Prince to Ingrid Haas' (right) spirited
Milli. Warm, witty and nostalgic ... a must see this
summer!
TRUTH OR CONSEQUENCES (left)
Late night, on a lonely Huron County road, fifteen
year old Eloise has an extraordinary encounter.
What she sees changes her life forever. Funny and
touching ... this play will grab you and keep you
entertained until the last word is spoken.
