46. In Memoriam
46. In Memoriam
MCGRATH: In loving memory of a dear and spe-
cial Mother and Grandmother, Ruth who was
called home 7 years ago, July 14, 2000.
We hold your hand and walk with you,
In dreams rthat seem so real,
And once more we can talk with you,
And tell you how we feel.
We thank you for the love you gave,
Before we had to part,
We keep it in a special place,
That's deep within our hearts.
It is there that we find solace,
And draw our strength upon,
The years have past but not the love.
Your memory still lingers on.
A loving Mother,
A special Grandmother and a true friend,
Your wit and sense of humour,
Your kindness and compassion,
Your family stories,
You always had a smile, instead of a frown,
Always had a hand when one was down,
You gave us all you had to give,
However great or small,
But most of all you gave us love,
The greatest gift of all.
May the words of love blow softly,
And whisper so you will hear,
That we still love you and miss you,
And wish that you were still here.
And all that life has given us,
And all that's left to do,
We will never have a greater gift,
Than the years we spent with you.
Lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her
children, Barbara, Cheryl, Sandra and Paul,
Donna and Neil, Ken and Waneeta and your
grandchildren Mike, Nick, Tommy and Timmy.46-

HABITAT FOR HUMANITY
Habitant for Humanity Huron County (HFHHC)
wishes to thank all the people who supported our
Beef -on -a -Bun fundraising lunch that was held on
June 27th at the Hensall United Church. We fed
over 500 people for lunch, and your support for
HFHHC is greatly appreciated. We also want to
thank the residents and busiensses of the Village of
Hensall for their tremendous generosity during the
canvass of the town that happened the same day
and evening. Your positive reception was over-
whelming. All proceeds will go the current house-
building project in Hensall. All this great work coul
dnot have been accomplished without the dozens
of volunteers who graciously gave of their time and
talents to help with the 1 uncheon and the canvass.
God bless you all for our desire to support HFHHC
in it's mission to eliminate poverty housing in Huron
County. - Habitat for Humanity Huron County

MacLellan wants county council
to explore length of EMS shifts
Coun. Bernie MacLellan (Huron
East) is asking administrators to
check into the length of shifts hand-
ed out to EMS personnel after read-
ing about a number of lawsuits filed
by accident victims claiming
lengthy shifts were to blame.
"I think it's something we need to
address," says MacLellan.
Ambulance -service manager
David Lew notes while the concern
is a valid one, it was the union that
asked for a switch from 12 to 24-
hour long shifts in 2002, because the
past ,system of three 12 -hour shifts,
served over three days, proved to be
too disruptive to employees.

proved to be a boon to the county.
For one, notes Shewfelt, more
than $85,000 was collected in the
Relay for Life fundraiser, which
benefits the Canadian Cancer
Society.
Shewfelt notes he also attended
the grand opening of the new ambu-
lance station in Wingham, and an
organizational meeting for the
Huron Manufacturing Association,
which is gearing up for its popular
awards night.
Further, Shewfelt attended the first
meeting of Huron Economic
Development Matters, as well as as
a special service to honour Ontario
