Vanastra woman thrilled
by recent hole -in -one shot

It's been a week since Anita Plumsteel hit a
hole -in -one at the Bluewater Golf Course near
Bayfield, and the Vanastra resident is still
smiling.
"I told myself to keep my head down and
when I hit the ball, it took off sailing and
drifted a bit towards the pin," she said of her
shot on Bluewater's par three, 110 -yard fifth
hole.
"When I got up there I grabbed my chipper
and putter, but I couldn't find the ball on the
green. I looked in the hole and there it was!"

An avid golfer for 35 years, Plumsteel and
her husband Ron, spend their summers at the
Bluewater campground and play the nine -
hole course almost every day.
She was golfing with Joyce and Joe White
on July 4 when she hit her first hole -in -one,
using a nine -wood and a Wilson `Hope' ball.
"I actually had two eights a couple of holes
before. After that shot I straightened out my
game and ended with a 46," Plumsteel said.
"It doesn't happen very often, but I certainly
will be trying for another hole -in -one. My dad
hit two and he didn't start golfing until he
was 65. It's a thrill."
