Smith, Funeral Director • Pogo 16 July 11, 2007 • The Huron Expositor We've completed the trip over the bridge by Sara Kramers and Jeff DeCorte "All you need is love." Let's take a look at our school years at St. James, and compare it to walking across a bridge. We started out in kindergarten as scared little students; we were at the beginning of a long bridge that had to be crossed somehow. As we walked along it we gained wisdom that would improve in the long run. We found friends and teachers that made our journey eas- ier. Sometimes there were obstacles that would block our way; like that one time we had a never-ending project about Hatchet. Together we overcame the obstacles and com- pleted our adventure over the Elementary Bridge. But we are now at the start of another bridge, a more difficult bridge, a more difficult journey, our secondary education. We still have our friends with us, and through- out our new journey we will meet new friends and teachers to encour- age us to keep the good work going across the next bridge. During our life we will have to cross more bridges, sometimes alone. But there will always be an exit waiting for you to achieve. It has been a great experience, at St. James, but I think that with the help from our friends, family, and teachers we are now ready to begin our journey on to St. Anne's, or St. Mike's. We have had many memo- ries at this school, some good, and some bad, and we will remember them always. A -special thanks goes out to our parents for driving us to, school when we would miss the bus, pay- ing for trips and food orders and helping us out with our never-end- ing homework. We'd also like to thank everyone who helped make this graduation perfect. Thanks to the staff members and volunteers, Fr. Chris and everyone else who made our 10 years at St. James won- derful. To complete these awesome years at St. James, there has to be some awe- some people to go along with it. The first person on our list is Codie Janes; also called CJ, came to our school in grade 7, and it seems like she has been here all along. She's always willing to lend a helping hand whenever needed. Evan Ribey, aka E -man, aka Oliver Warbucks; is always the `smart' one who can help you with your schoolwork. He also knows any big words that you might need to know to step up your homework. He's generous and quite a gentleman. Pamela Fonseca came to our school in grade 6, with a love of shop- ping, singing, danc- ing and laughing. I actually think that I can hear her laugh- ing right now. Jordan Coyne; aka Jordie, is known for her bright red hair, and I think that all the girls were scared to face her in track and field for her fast long legs. One of the tallest people in our class is Alex Melady. Wow, no one knew that you could run that fast! He always had an obsession for dirt biking, paint balling and calling Ms. Dolmage "coach' in class. David Robinson, aka Dangerous Dave, aka Burn Master; he makes stupid things into the funniest things in the world and he is one of St. James award winners Father Caruana Award for Most Christian Attitude: Evan Ribey Lions Club Award for Most Improved Student: Kristen Grobbink Principal's Award: Danielle Chisholm Writing Award: Sara Kramers Literature Award: Kalen Devereaux Art Award in Memory of Mrs. Josie Nigh: Pamela Fonseca French Award: Ashley VanDorp Mathematics Award: Cody Bennewies Science Award: Eric Dwyer History Award: Evan Ribey Athletic Awards, Male: Kaleb Arts and Dean Johnston Athletic Awards, Female: Ashley Janmaat Huron -Perth OECTA Catholic Values Award: Jeff DeCorte Proficiency Award: Pamela Fonseca Knights of Columbus Award for highest Academic Standing: Rachel Askett Valedictorians: Jeff DeCorte and Sara Kramers Congratulations Graduates McKILLOP MUTUAL 1/1 INSURANCE COMPANY 91 Main St. South, Seaforth Office 519-527.0400 1400.463-9204 Fix 519-527.2717 HOME, COMMERCIAL FARM, AUTO COVERAGES Continued Success In High School TUCKER'S MEAT SHOP 5197527-0036 27 Main St. S., Seaforth Congratulations Grads! le-)C4WQ/20 n' Rooms 9"&e.st, 3rotvots. & gi.4ei.,a male St. Sea TeYlelleora Delivery Available/527-0555 the biggest farmers in the class. Danielle Chisholm is another newcomer to our school, she came in grade 4. She quickly made friends with the girls and the guys in our class. She had some blonde moments; like in Quebec when she thought that people ice -fished in the summer and how many provinces are there in Canada? 23? Rachel Askett always gets her homework done, and is known for her love of ringette and other sports. She should definitely get one award, for having the loudest burp in the class. Kalen Devereaux; he always has healthy food in his lunch box, but you can always find him scooping out food from Pam and Danielle's lunches for something that can make him hyper. Oh ya, Kalen, do you remember Hilary? McDonalds was pretty good last year wasn't it Kalen? First time? Kaleb Arts, the biggest soccer fan in the class, and he is known for not going on the bus on Tuesday because he is helping his dad with the pigs. Maybe later I can borrow that orange vest of yours so I can bike on the highway. It was a surprise when we found out that we were getting a new per- son when school was almost over, but it seems like she's been here all along. Martie Bokkers has the best scream ever, and she showed us all in Quebec. Jon Fournier, aka Jack Hammer Johnny. Whenever he has a chance he can make the whole class start laughing, except the teacher some- times. It was strange how he did his speech on pencils, when he always loses the ones that he gets. Maybe if he cleaned out his desk more often he would find them all. Colin Campbell, aka Chubbs, has a high five, or shake 'n bake for everything, and can always make See THERE'S, Page 23 You've graduated! from the Congratulations!
