The recent Agricultural Society
draw at the Seaforth and District
Community Centre had people out
from as far away as Owen Sound,
Brampton and Windsor.
"It's a wonderful party," said
Agricultural Society member Ross
Ribey during the event. "We've got
two great bands."
Shelly Rastin, with Dry County
performed under the tent outside
while the Red Rascal Band played
inside the arena.
Ribey said people from 19 to 90
years old were there enjoying the
evening.
They were all there hoping to win
the grand prize of $25,000, but also
for dinner, live music and a chance
at one of the other 99 prizes.
One hundred names were drawn
over the course of the night, with
the last name drawn winning the
$25,000.
"Betty (Germyn) and I won a prize
this year," said Agricultural Society
president Marie Hicknell-Feeney on
the night of the draw.
She said the small gift certificate
they won was the first time she had
won anything at an ag society draw.
Hicknell-Feeney said they sold
841 tickets for the night.
In a telephone interview this
week, Ribey said that figure is down
since last year, guessing by maybe
100.
Ribey expects there will b0 a dis-
cussion about the future of the draw
at the ag society's general meeting
tonight (July 11).

Ethan Wallace takes one more name off the list during the annual elimination draw held by the Seaforth Agricultual Society for
the past 18 years.
Secretary treasurer Betty Germyn
said the discussion is a routine one
'that happens every year, though she
did say ticket sales have dwindled
in the last couple years and the ag
society is somewhat concerned.

"The generos-
