Smith & Sons, LP Logistics Coordinator PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONS • Coordinate Seaforth's fleet and 3rd party carriers for in - and out -bound freight (domestic and some international) in a timely, cost effective manner. • Assist with the communication / co-ordination of Customs, C-TPAT, ACE and FDA compliance requirements. • Bottle ordering. • Packaging cycle counts. • Track and maintain CHEP and other pallet inventories as required. • Manufacturing system data entry, inquiries and adjustments as required. • Provide administrative support and coverage for Distribution Manager. • Other duties as required, on a daily basis for smooth operation of the Distribution department. • Receiving of off-site packaging materials into ROSS system • Maintain CHEP pallet inventory to meet production requirements • Contact shipper/receivers when drivers arrive for deliveries and direct drivers to appropriate dock • Explore opportunities for cost saving within the supply chain. EDUCATION 1 TRAINING / EXPERIENCE • High school graduate with preference to having post secondary education preferably in business / logistics. • Current knowledge of Customs / FDA initiatives as it pertains to the food industry. • Transportation experience dealing with LTL and FTL which includes customs, dispatching, shipping/receiving, - HACCP knowledge is essential. • Computer literate and competent in the use of MRP & Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and e-mail program).
