Huron East spending $1,000 to circulate motion

Huron East council decided to
spend the $1,000 necessary to circu-
late a motion to municipalities
throughout Ontario complaining to
the Ministry of Environment about
the frustrations of meeting time-
lines dealing with water regula-
tions.
"This should go to other munici-
palities as well. We're not the only
ones having this problem," said
McKillop Coun. Bill Siemon.
Tuckersmith Coun. Larry
McGrath, who made the original
motion, said the biggest problem is
dealing with provincial delays in
obtaining Ministry approvals for
amendments to certificates of

we have more ammunition when we
take it to our MPP," he said.
Huron East has had difficulty
meeting provincial deadlines for the
necessary upgrades to the Seaforth
water system because of delays
through the Ministry of the
Environment.
Siemon said council is tired of
dealing with "stupid bureaucrats
who drag their feet to justify their
existence."
Clerk -Administrator Jack
McLachlan warned council that it
would cost $1,000 to send it to all
the municipalities in the province.
