Rain spoils tree quiz participation
Rev. John's sermon at
Cavan United Church on
Sunday was titled
"Becoming Who You Are."
This was Pentecost
Sunday. Greeters and col-
lectors were Ruth and
Doug Campbell.
After the church service
the congregation was invit-
ed to Gordon and Irma
Pryce's for a social time.
This was the Sunday
School's last get-together
until September. No fish
were caught. Jim Rapson
and Gord Pryce barbecued
hamburgers and hot dogs
for everyone.
The kids enjoyed rafting
on the pond. Gordon had
put together a tree identi-
fication quiz, but because
of the rain didn't get many
GIRIZEIM
participants.
There will be no service at
Cavan on June 3 as the con-
gregation is invited to
attend the service at
Northside when the chil-
dren and youth will present
"Miracles." All are welcome.
Communion services will be
held at both churches on
June 10.

Yard sale draws a lot of traffic
There was a lot of traffic at
Queensway's corner during the
Hensall Community wide Yard
Sale.
Despite the clouds and sprin-
kling of rain early in the day
residents were pleased to see
customers lined up for hamburg-
ers, hotdogs, donuts, coffee and
pop.
Bargains were also to be found
at the tables of yard sale items
where volunteers and residents
did a brisk business.
Volunteers Klaas Van Wieren
and Glenn Gascho barbecued
and Francis Kinsman, Merle
McLellan, Natasha Buckley and
Bill Coleman helped.
Funds raised go to residents'
council.
Residents who attended the
breakfast group Tuesday morn-
ing dined on stacks of pancakes
with syrup and sausages, fruit,
