Offering palliative care services hospice as an alternative for people
throughout four-fifths of Huron AIREIBISV who don't want to die in hospital
and don't have the support to be
able to die at home.
"The province is now funding
urban residential hospices and
Grey -Bruce has been given the
go-ahead to explore one for their
region," says Bisback, adding
that Huron Hospice still has to
do a feasibility study looking at
the need in the area.
"It's a dream at this point," she
says.
Bisback says Huron Hospice is
currently working on putting a
website onto the Internet at
www.huronhospice.ca to provide
more information to the public
about its services.
While there is no specific goal for the Wings
of a Dove campaign, Bisback says she's hop-
ing it will raise close to $10,000.
And, for those who can't contribute this
year, she says she hopes the mail -out will help
them learn about Huron Hospice.
"We never turn anyone away," she says.
County, Huron Hospice has sent
out 19,400 pieces of mail both to
educate the public about its ser-
vices and ask for needed dona-
tions.
Huron Hospice has to
fundraise at least $10,000-
$15,000 each year to pay for vol-
unteer training, volunteer
mileage, office supplies and
equipment.

campaign will be as successful
for all of Huron County as it was
